Michael was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii. He is a graduate of Hawaii Preparatory Academy, has a BA and MA in economics from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from University of California, Berkeley. For more than 20 years, Mike has been President and CEO of HPM Building Supply, a 92-year-old local company which is now 100% employee owned through the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Mike currently serves as a director for First Hawaiian Bank, Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Hawaii Leeward Planning Conference, Junior Achievement of Hawaii Island, Hawaii Lumber Products Association, Blood Bank of Hawaii and HPM Foundation. He is an avid aviator and longtime karate instructor.
Eric Hung Le is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and works with Northrop Grumman Technical Services as a Sector Affordability Lead/Internal Strategy Consultant. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, he held leadership positions with Deloitte & Touche, GE, KPMG Consulting, and IBM, and has consulted for top 100 Fortune companies in a wide range of industries, including high-tech, banking, and healthcare. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and the University of Maryland, respectively, a Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics from George Mason University, and a Wharton MBA in Finance and Management. He has served as Adjunct Professor in Operations Research and Statistics at George Mason University, and has authored numerous publications.
Laurie Ainslie is currently co-manager of Ainslie Services, LLC a company specializing in real estate development and management consulting. She previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Hawaii Preparatory Academy after her role as the Vice President of Finance & Resort Operations for Hualalai Development Company. Prior to taking that position, Laurie served as the Vice President of Finance & Resort Operations for Kaupulehu Development Company. Laurie serves her community as an active Board Member of Hawaii Preparatory Academy and as volunteer Executive Director for the food pantry activities of Kokua Christian Ministries. Laurie previously has served on the Board of Directors of Hawaii Community Foundation and Kahilu Theatre.
Alan Tang is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Olomana Loomis ISC, a full-service integrated business consulting, marketing, brand and communications firm. Prior to founding the agency in 1996, he has held senior positions for privately-owned businesses, Hawaii Top 250 companies and a Fortune 500 corporation. As a leader, Alan believes in collaboratively developing sustainable solutions that contribute to the well-being of the State of Hawaii and its people — ensuring our Islands continue to be a desirable place to live, work and visit. Alan has provided leadership to organizations such as Association of Fundraising Professionals Aloha Chapter, Hawaiian Island Ministries, National Kidney Foundation (NY) board committee, International Association of Business Communicators-Pacific Plains Region (SF), Honolulu Zoological Society, Sierra Club Hawaii Honorary Board, HiTech Quest and Hope International.
